The Grounded film series profiles practices and rituals of resilience among organizers, cultural workers, and movement builders. The practices unfold from the perspective of a future archivist looking back at our current moment of crossroads. Through documentary and speculative fiction the film portrays the inner power of our movements for justice. The series is guided by a central question: “what practices keep you grounded?” One of the practices that keeps me grounded, is somatics. Through somatics I practice Jo kata to help me connect with my soma, my center, my power.
